ACATENANGO 2 DAYS & 1 NIGHT OVERNIGHT TOUR

ITINERARY:

DAY 1

  • 6:30 – Meet up at pick up spot in Antigua, Café Condesa in front of Central Park.
  • 6:45 – Departure from Antigua to La Soledad (please be punctual, we won’t wait more than 15 minutes for you to arrive).
  • 7:45 – Arrive to our headquarters for gear rentals, breakfast, pack your belongings, pack the food that we will provide & briefing.
  • 8:30 – The hike starts at 2,200m.
  • 13:30 – Arrival to our basecamp (average hiker time) and lunch.
  • 16:30 – Sunset hike to Fuego volcano (Q250 extra per person) decided at the basecamp.
  • 18:30 – Dinner and bonfire at basecamp.

DAY 2

  • 4:30 – Wake up time for Acatenango Summit hike.
  • 4:45 – Summit hike starts.
  • 5:30 – Sunrise at 3,976m.
  • 6:30 – Hike back to basecamp.
  • 7:00 – Breakfast at basecamp.
  • 8:00 – Departure from basecamp to La Soledad.
  • 10:30 – Arrival at our headquarters.
  • 12:00 – Drop off in Antigua.

*By damaging or losing any of the rented items (included/not included) you will be charged FULL retail price.

  • PASSPORT OR GOVERNMENT ISSUED ID mandatory deposit in order to rent gear. No photos accepted, original ID only, one ID per person.

ACATENANGO HIKE CHECKLIST:

WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH ME?

  • ONE ID, Original passport or Government issued ID. We will keep this as a safety deposit while you are up in the volcano.
  • SNACKS, we provide snacks, but we recommend to bring your favorite ones!
  • HIKING BACKPACK, 40L to 50L.
  • 2 PAIR OF SOCKS, UNDERWEAR.
  • SHORTS & PANTS.
  • WINDBREAKER OR SWEATER.
  • SUNSCREEN.
  • TOILET PAPER OR BABY WIPES.
  • SUNGLASSES.

IMPORTANT TO BE AWARE:

  • NO RUNNING WATER, TOILETS, ELECTRICITY ALONG THE WAY.
  • TEMPERATURE, At basecamp can drop to -5c, weather is unpredictable and constantly changing.
  • ALTITUDE SICKNESS, keep yourself well hydrated, drink at least 3 liters of water the day before the hike, and rest properly the night before.

HOW TO BOOK MY TOUR

WE DON’T TAKE RESERVATIONS WITHOUT PREVIOUS PAYMENT. TO GUARANTEE YOUR SPOT IN OUR TOUR, WE OFFER THE FOLLOWING PAYMENT METHODS: 

PAYMENT LINK: Request your payment link via WhatsApp, this way you can pay your deposit with credit or debit card. No extra fees.

BAC TRANSFER: If you own a Guatemalan BAC account, request our account number in order to proceed with your transfer.

When your payment is complete (either of the options above), send us a screenshot of your voucher along with your name(s), the date you want to book for and the type of food you prefer. 

Wait for your confirmation.

Cash and card (8% fee) accepted at our headquarters. 

CANCELLATION POLICIES

CHANGE MY TOUR DATE/ REQUEST FOR A REFUND:

75% refund ONLY if requested 48hrs prior your tour starts (6:30am) later than this time frame we won’t refund the 75% amount (Q560 shared cabin, Q1,800 private cabin) nor change your tour date.

FUEGO VOLCANO POLICIES:

Regardless of weather or visibility, price remains the same (Q250 per person).
